How does group membership actually work?

Once installed, you’ll see a new option in the membership plan settings called Group/Umbrella Membership. From there, you can define how many child users can be added under one parent account. For example, a school can buy 20 seats for students, while a business might grab 50 seats for employees—all under a single subscription.

Can parent users control their own group?

Yes, the parent user gets a dashboard where they can invite members by email or share an invite code. They can also remove old members or upgrade seat counts if needed. This takes a huge load off the site admin because parents can self-manage their groups without asking you to do it.

What happens if a child user leaves the group?

No problem. The parent can simply revoke that seat and invite someone else. This flexibility is great for companies or schools where members change often.

Does it work with content restrictions?

Absolutely. Any content the parent has access to automatically extends to the children. But if you want to limit child access—say, restrict billing pages—you can do that in the settings.

Will this slow down my site?

Not really. ARMember handles groups in a lightweight way. Just make sure your hosting is solid if you’re running very large groups (500+ users).
